Pioneers - Our Means PIONEERS is a self-supporting co-op. Funds needed to operate our programs are derived from these sources: An annual membership registration (PIONEERS Co-op) fee is due upon enrollment in the Co-op. You will not be considered a member of the Co-op until your registration fee is paid and enrollment form is returned. This fee is applied to miscellaneous operating expenses of the Co-op (copying, postage, utilities, paper supplies, liability insurance, long-distance phone calls, etc). Specific registration fees can be found on the PIONEERS Co-op membership registration form. Registration fees are non-refundable after June 1st. PIONEERS Co-op tuition fees cover the cost of contract tutorial services. They do not cover the cost of textbooks which are the responsibility of the individual student/families. (You will be contacted if group discount rates are available.) Tuition fees also do not cover lab supplies and copy fees. Tutorial rates in the 5th - 12th grade program are priced from $6.50 - $8.50 per class per day. Enrichment classes average approximately $5.50 per class per day. Since an adult monitor is also required for the Study Hall and the Fellowship/Activity Hall (games, quiet visiting, out-door activities), there is a $2.00 charge for each of these classes. See the Class Enrollment Schedule for a specific breakdown of the tuition cost for each class which will be offered. PIONEERS bills tuition fees on a monthly basis. A schedule of billing cycle and due dates is included with the Co-op calendar. Unless prior arrangements are made, a $10.00 late fee will be assessed for payments made after the due date (or date pre-arranged for installment payments). Please Note: Due to the financial burden that dropped classes have on the Co-op, (Classes dropped later in the school year can't be picked up by other students, thus resulting in a large deficit in the annual budget.) we have adopted the following policy:
Please be certain to research curriculum and class objectives carefully and talk with instructors before registering for any classes you are uncertain about. We are sorry for any individual hardship this policy may cause, however PIONEERS has a very limited "savings account." We desire to maintain our financial integrity by paying our tutors and bills in a timely manner. We can only do this if tuition is paid when due. An additional semester lab/supplies/copy fee will be charged for some classes to help offset the cost of additional supplies and support staff. All first semester fees are due with registration. Second semester fees are due around November 1st. See the PIONEERS Membership registration form for specific fees. In an effort to keep tuition fees to a minimum, it is the goal of the Co-op to use fundraisers and grants to help subsidize operational costs of the program. The following pages further explain the mission, method, and means utilized to accomplish the goals of PIONEERS.
